Exterra Termite Interception and Exterra Baiting System
Your home has subterranean termites. Or you realise there is a good chance that it will if it is not properly protected. But the only way to stop termites is an invasive process that requires the application of hundreds of litres of toxic spray under and around your home. Right?
Not anymore. Imagine all this being replaced by the application in a closed and locked Station of a termite bait containing a few grams of an active ingredient less toxic than table salt. Welcome to the future of termite management – termite baiting with Exterra.
There are different types of Residential and Commercial Termite Baits available in Mudgeeraba, Robina, Pottsville, Ashmore, Coomera, Currumbin, Mermaid, Murwillumbah, Southport, Gold Coast, Queensland & Northern NSW. Until recently, the almost exclusively used method of termite management was the application of a toxic chemical soil barrier. The application of such a barrier to your home would typically involve spraying large volumes of toxic and environmentally persistent chemicals around and under its foundation in close proximity to you and your family. But Exterra radically changes all that. And as important as Exterra’s environment-friendly features are, they’re just a big bonus. Exterra’s greatest advantage compared to chemical barriers is its ability to eliminate the actual source of your termite problem – the termite colony itself. (And, what professionals often fail to advise, the purpose of a toxic chemical soil barrier is to prevent concealed entry by termites into your home. Termite can still bridge these toxic chemical barriers, or exploit gaps if the barrier is not complete and continuous. This is all detailed in the Australian Standard AS 3660 Termite management.
The Exterra Termite Interception and Baiting System is a systematic, multi-step termite management method. Australian field trials have clearly demonstrated the effectiveness of the system in controlling subterranean termites in Australia.
The Exterra System represents a true paradigm shift in termite management. Conventional approaches to termite management can be likened to treating the symptoms of a disease but not the actual disease. Exterra in many ways is akin to treating the actual disease. Exterra even offers the possibility of curing the “disease.”
Termidor® is the answer
Termites are increasingly causing major structural damage to buildings throughout Australia and striking fear into the hearts of homeowners.
Attacking in large numbers, termites can feed to the point of leaving only a thin timber veneer, and this can happen in a matter of months. With the home so often the major family asset, and termite infestation being essentially uninsurable, homeowners are desperately seeking reliable protection against termites.
After many years of patient research the solution has finally arrived…TERMIDOR®.
TERMIDOR has delivered unparalleled termite control since it was first introduced onto the Australian market in 2002. BASF has recently announced the keenly awaited label extension for TERMIDOR to control nuisance ants
Why DuPont™ Altriset®?
There’s no other termite product like DuPont™ Altriset® termiticide. It took scientists at DuPont™ over 10 years to create a termiticide that not only delivers highly effective termite control, but with its very low toxicity, it has a revolutionary safety and environmental profile.
Altriset® is deadly to termites. Altriset® works by targeting termite muscles. When termites come into contact with Altriset® their jaw muscles become paralysed so they cease feeding and stop damaging your house within hours. But they don’t die straight away. The termites stay alive long enough to walk back to their nest to transfer Altriset® onto their mates. That means you don’t just kill the termites that are lurking around your home, you can control the termites back at the nest, so they don’t come back to scare you in the future. Altriset® eliminates termites from structures within 3 months and when applied to the soil around your home, continues to provide protection for years. When deciding what product to use to treat termites, you may wonder what effects the product may have on your family, your pets and the environment. Well, Altriset® is the first and only liquid termiticide that has been classed as an unscheduled poison by the Australian regulatory authorities, which is something other products can’t claim. As a result your pest manager doesn’t have to wear protective equipment (such as overalls, goggles or gloves) when mixing and applying the product – so don’t worry if they wander around your property in only short-sleeved shirts and shorts. Thisgreat safety profile not only applies to people, Altriset® has very low toxicity to pets, birds, fish, earthworms and even honey bees, which means you can protect your home with minimal impact on the environment.
The TermX Replenishment System has been designed by Australians to suit the harsh Australian conditions and termite pressures. It has been extensively tested to offer long-term termite management and prevention and was stringently assessed to strict CodeMark Australia standards, which it has achieved. Don’t settle for just any old system – why risk it on your most valued asset!
The TermX Replenishment System is a specially designed pipe system used to apply termiticide chemical under pressure to saturate the soil medium surrounding a structure. This creates an impenetrable barrier (if repellent termiticides are used) or a death-trap for unsuspecting foraging termites (in the case of non-repellent termiticide chemicals) that move through impregnated soil.
TermX is a specially engineered system designed to deliver chemical termite treatments as a preventative measure for these pests. A certified TermX installer lays a series of replenishment system around or underneath a structure. At a later stage, chemical is pumped through the pipes to create a barrier of protection. Your certified TermX installer can make recommendations on how often the system needs to be charged with chemical – this is dependant on the type of chemical used and the termite pressure in your area. Once installed the system allows for quick application of a treatment to protect your most valued assets.
